Generations ago, the insect beastfolk came together to form a unified brotherhood, separated into two main factions. One of these factions are called the Kani, formed from the insectfolk capable of sustained flight. While their Bitilo brethren formed their main hive in the middle of Kaovina, the Kani made their hive amongst the tallest trees in Natura, a few miles away from the furthest border. They chose this as their home region due to their need of vast vegetation for pollination and producing honey. Much like their ground counterparts, this vast community of hive nests are lead by a council of queens. Their main export is honey, fruits, and nesting materials, while their main import is ores and crystals that are easier to find in other regions than Natura.
The hive nest covers acres of the jungle canopy, separated into vast segments for housing, food making, storage, and security around the center hive, where the council resides. With thousands of insectfolk living there, there is never a silent moment with all manners of clicking, buzzing, and working in the city. Many guards around the city are specialized in their elements of Wind and Fire, which are mainly used during storms to keep the hive in one piece.
